Sedona Artist Creating Energetic Mandalas, Symbolic Artwork & Spirit-Centered Photography

Usha Lamat’s journey into mandala art began after she gave birth to her first child. Having a new being grow within her and being an artist, her mandalas became a reflection of that experience. She didn’t start out with the work she does today; she began with crayon, creating beautiful mandalas on paper as harmonious reflections of her daily reality.

From there, she started seeking round objects to paint on. Having always gathered sticks, stones, and found objects, she began painting directly on them. One day, she came across a plow disk in a farmer’s field and recognized it as the perfect platform for a mandala expressing the shift from the Iron Age to a Golden Age. Having once brought life to fruition in the soil, she felt the disk was worthy of being held sacred.
